After David Mitchell painted this figure and showed us, i know it immediately. I wanted that figure and also paint it.
With the help of Tommi Worton and David Mitchell i good buy this bust.
The casting is great (not smooth all around) and fitting is a dream. I needed not a drop off putty.
After cleaning and priming i started painting with acrylic and then turned to the oil paint. The metals are printersink with oils.
So, the entire figure is as always painted in oils with a underlayer off acrylic.
The colors are on my screen a little warmer then in reality. So i hope your screen is better..
Maybe i should tweaking here and there, but i cannot find a spot.
So, positive comments are welcome. It was a joy to paint, and maybe i'm to proud of this one, but untill today this is my best figure I THINK .

Marc a great piece of painting and after reading Conn Igguldens trilogy on Genghis Khan I might try this one . The only thing I would pick out is the hair on the beard and moustache could do with more degrees greys

Even without knowing who is depicted, this is one menacing looking bust!!

The tired "don't mess with me" eyes are great! Love how you treated the fur trim!!

    Great job! Congrats!

Beautiful bust Marc. I love the skin tones and the choice of colors you used for his jacket. I hope mine comes out 1/2 as good as yours.

Indeed a very well-painted bust Marc!

Good colour choices and I particularly like the eyes and skin tones.

He is painted so well, I really like the browns you used and the metals are really cool. I am in the school that painters typically don't spend enough time and thought on the figures hair. The hair is easy to just rush through and get done so you can move on to something more fun to paint but that is the mistake. I think if you spent a little more time on his hair he would be the best he can be. The good thing is that is an easy fix. This is a cool bust and it is just awesome the way you painted it. Congrats on a wonderful completion.

    Hi! Marc.
    Excellent finish!
I think this figure is a difficult figure to paint.
    However you're painting very well.
    It's very gorgeous and beautiful.
    I congratulate completion.

    Excellent paintwork Marc, my compliments!
Good work on the leathers, skin and eyes.
I have only one small remark. I agree with gordon that the beard could use some more tones. And the beard reaches until the red of the lips, while with most people there is a bit of skin visible (depending on person how much). I have added a picture to make it more clear.
