Great bust of a great soldier !
Full name ::
Philippe "Leclerc" de Hauteclocque
Leclerc was is "War Name"
The Great Uncle of my wife was with him in the 2° D.B as Lieutenant of the 1°RMSM (Régiment de marche des spahis marocains"
André Rouxel also "Compagnon de la Libération" like the Général "Leclerc" only 1038 compagnons !
Nice looking bust
Great job Pavol
A good day to bring this bust on the market would be the 24th of August - exactely 75 years after the the day, this picture was taken during the liberation of Paris ...
Concerning his name:
His full name was Philippe François Marie de Hauteclocque and, as rightly said, he choosed in August 1940 the nom de guerre "Leclerc" - for he needed a pseudonym for his fight against Nazi Germany and the Vichy regime to protect his family members living in France from reprisals!
Incidentally, the three stars (Géneral de Division) as rank insignia are correct - Leclerc had been promoted shortly before ...
But: The best part of the pic is the nice Citroen "Traction Avant" in the Background!
I think Pavol releasing the pics on Bastille Day was just a coincidence but the Liberation of Paris anniversary would be apt.
Great job Pavol.
A nice looking sculpt and certainly capturing the reference pictures
Personally would have preferred the dress uniform with the medals ribbons etc
But no doubt a great addition to the range
