..............something really grabs my attention. Nello Rivieccio's
as yet unfinished Mameluke Toug Bearer is a case in point.
Before we get too excited I should mention that it's alas a 'one
-off' piece - although he does say that he's considering production
of a similar commercial version in the future. I'm sure many of you
are already familiar with his stuff, but for those who aren't a look
at his FB page will be highly enlightening - wonderful work !

Wow, that is a lovely piece, the motion and imbalance captured in the pose is superb.
Have to hope his (lucky) client does not live somewhere too warm as those supporting horse legs are very thin around the pastern.

He’s a tremendous sculptor, one of the best in my view. He seems to have started collaborating with Stu Hale (Stormtroopers / Troop54) lately. Which can only be a good thing.

Nello = a byword for quality sculpting

Certainly a wonderful piece and a extremely lucky collector .......painted up will really push the piece to a even higher level

    Thanks for sharing Mike

Nello updated things this morning and published the finished piece.
The horse's pose has been improved and the reins and stuff have
been added. In response to Rob's point, we can be virtually sure
that a hefty steel pin strengthens the supporting leg.

Nello is a fantastic artist and an honest person and I have the greatest respect for him.A few days ago he uploaded on FB the painted version of the Mameluke and although it has been years since he had painted anything (his very words),he hasn't lost it.

It is a wonderful illustration of the dynamism that can be achieved with making figures in resin. Something that was far more difficult in metal.
