I was given this at scale model world in Telford on saturday as a grey resin piece, from a pal who was visiting.
Being off work on Monday I have given it a good old Daub to represent the Normandy style of bulding in red brick and cream which predominates the area.
Painted in acrylic and with weathering poders, and using a small length of optic fibre for the water spout.
The trough still needs a couple more thin layers of water effect, otherwise I think it's done.
I'm convinced it's 1/35th scale because of the height of the bronze trough
    Your comments are most welcome

I have that kit, too, it's by Verlinden, "Village Water Pump VER1036". You're correct, Paul, it's 1/35, though it works in 1/32 or 1/30, with the newer toy soldiers. If I remember correctly, the central column is cast in a plaster of some kind, and the other parts are resin bits? I love your finish, especially the verdigris on the spout, and the finish of the trough or bowl.

This is a very good kit to have in your stash, I think, because it's very versatile.

    Again, nice finish, prosit!

Very nice colours and weathering Paul.
Do you have a vignette in mind or is it 'for later'?

I was given this on Saturday at Scale Model World in Telford while I was finishing painting a tartan sleeve for one of Ian 's re-released Thistle Miniatures fromWee friends.
My pal Bob turned up and presented me with it, "here you are you can make something around that"
He used it as a template for a 1/6th scale version.
As for how it's used, well... I went to Normandy this year hence the colour choice. I got a hundred ideas for WW2 figures that I don't normally do.
So maybe a d-day incident near Crepon, or a couple of guys from the Big red one inland, or 'somewhere near Bayeux'.

Ron I have been quite rude.
    I'm sorry I didn't see this post.
The answer is actually alll to do with circulation
    and pressure .
So as long as there's enough special brew in the sytem, the flow takes care of itself.
    Regards hic paul
