He's a French Officer at the battle of Champigny (December 1-3 1870).

Here's where I drew inspiration. It's from a panorama that Edouard Detaille and Alphonse de Neuville worked on together.

This particular scene was painted by de Neuville, and the prominent figure is the subject chosen.

sorry...went a little too far.

I use 1/35 scale parts to help size up the figure. This arm is from a Dragon German "something" kit.

...go on, you have my undivided attention here.
