Not been on best form last couple of days, I did manage some painting the other day though so before I do anything tonight I'll post a piccy of that, though there's not much progress.

Just a small amount of progress, started his face and prepped the lace for painting yellow. Also started adding both Shade and highlight to his trousers, though I want to keep them rather dark.

Gonna try and get more done tomorrow and over the weekend. However I'm off to a gig Saturday night to see a great blues rock band called Brave Rival, very upand coming band from somewhere called Portsmouth.

Cheers Kev, slow but steady progress at the moment, got Dunstan popping round for a chin wag soon. As for the gig, I've been informed it's my turn to drive!

A little more progress, glazes to soften the transions on the face, not all that visible with my rubbish photography. Then alternating glazes between the tunic, trousers and the leather bottoms of the trousers. Hopefully starting to get the hang of this glazing method.

Managed to get quite a bit done, not finished yet but not far from. Pictures a little washed out, I swear cameras don't like me.

He is now on his final base, I prefer to attach swords and stuff at this stage rather than risk breaking them trying to base him with all the paraphernalia in place.

Thank you, I had to paint the lace as best I could since I sculpted it, luckily as an armour modeller I learnt about 'pin washes'. That is thin paint being drawn along a furrow or seam on the model by capillary action, works better with oils which I didn't use mostly because I don't know where they all are! Glad you like it and thanks again.

    Washes are great for lace.
I have done some lace by cutting strips of lead foil, omce i glue them onto the figure i press a little harder against it with the textured part of the exacto knife, that gives it a good texture.
For silver lace i paint black first , then drybrush it with silver, i paint the edges of the silver lace by adding a little bit of vallejos silver grey .

Many thanks, lace can be tricky, I would imagine very tricky in your scale, but as you say there are always ways of doing it. It's just that the trick lays in discovering those ways, which is why sharing on here is so damned good.

Thanks Kev, it was an enjoyable project and has been recieved well so I'm very happy with it, I know where the niggles are but ain't telling.

As for the sheep, yeah I have a rather good anecdote to follow that but it wouldn't be appropriate on here so remind in at BC.
