Just started another of Nap's moving house purchases, this time it's from CGS and their French Infantryman from 1796.



I have cleaned him up and washed and primed him.



He has some lovely facial features and the torn bits on his uniform will make him interesting to paint.

Now to start painting his head in Artist's oils.

Face painted this morning, hair colour is just a base coat and still wet. I shall leave this now and get on with the fore and aft bicorne.

Great work geoff,I like the revolution period because uniform wise anything goes up to a point and I loved painting this bust,although I did convert mine,don't restrict yourself on this piece,let your hair down mate

I love your style of painting, Nap sent me a link to your thread and I really enjoyed it, brilliant work. I shall try to do some weathering after I have applied the paint, as I used to do with the military vehicles as I have quite a few weathering powders in stock.

It's been a mite hot to do much lately and a few hospital appointments but I have managed to get some base coat on the body and Bicorne with some shading done as well.



I shall now start to add some detailing.

Thanks Bob, it's only a few little things that I have that was on my doc's list when I went to get him to check with the cardio clinic when I could get off the not nice tablets they gave me which was only for a few months and that was in November, so referals are in place and one came very quickly and I have had 2 visits to Exeter ENT clinic and another at the end of month for one thing, plus bloods taken and and ECG for the Cardio. Just waiting for the skin cancer one now. Getting old is no fun.

Got some more painting done,

Bit more colour added to the body a few days ago and with some weathering applied.



Have done even more this morning and parts fixed in place.



Now for some dirt and wear to give the period look.
