    Hi guys,

It's been a while since I posted any WIP pics, so I thought I'd show you some progress I've made on my latest piece, this excellent bust of a French Imperial Grenadier Guard Standard Bearer sculpted by Carl Reid and produced by CGS Miniatures.

I still have some work to do on the hands, the head dress and the Eagle. I thought I'd add a piece of plaited cord to the banner. Not sure if it looks any good. Any thoughts?

Looks great so far, Tony....no doubt it'll be an excellent piece.
I think the cord looks ok as long as it will hang more naturally than it is now.

    Hi Tony,

Lovely work especially on the blues , how did you get that lettering effect ...NMM ? looks really good .

Personally I would loose the cords or replace them with "streamers with a tied"..will try and get a picture!!!

Great website for Napoleonic flags : www.flagsforum.com

Like you say this is a top quality piece and very popular .

    Thanks for sharing

Thanks everyone for your comments, and my apologies for loading the photo sideways. I'm not sure why that happens but its not the first time I've done that.

Thanks for your encouragement and comments about the plaited cords. I will add "streamers" to the flag post as suggested to further customise this piece.

I can highly recommend this bust. It's a bit more complex to build than most and you will probably need to paint in sub assemblies and then glue together later, otherwise it will almost impossible to paint all the details on the flag.

I'll continue to work on this bust and refine it further before I declared it completed.
