Personally, I don't it matters which side the musket is on. Soldiers adjust equipment to suit themselves. This is a stunning figure and one that I am sure will be a must have for Napoleonic enthusiasts. I have corrected the error in my previous post. Well done Hugo, it is a beauty.
Cheers
Chris

Hugo, can I say huge CONGRATULATIONS, as a French Napoleonic army fan this is stunning and you have produced something outstanding. I hope we can chat again at Euro, if possible please save one for me . Superb my friend and worthy of champagne. I personally think the best kit of the year without doubt, a true vision and different which is good.
Best wishes

Thanks for all the comments

Ian....we are just up from you at Euro mate ..I will be the one drooling !

I believe Series 77 also did both foot and camel versions many moons ago sculpted I think by Pat Bird ..might be wrong though!

Hello Mr. Viking Bob

I ask appollogies for the delay answer...

Im very happy because you liked... This is a special piece to us, because this is the first mounted figure that we did in RPmodels... But there are many things that are new to us... And we have many problems with the information... But we accept the challenge, and the final result is what you can see... We are doing just some corrections .........

Thank you.
With best regards

Hey Nap, I contacted some friends specialist of the revolutionary period (yes the Egyptian expedition is part of this period), among others a person of the Army Museum (Invalides) and another working in SHAA (historical service of armies in France).
I expect answers this weekend, hoping to properly posted their synthesis (correctly transleted) on the subject.;)

Hi Guys ,

Thanks for all the comments both here and on social media ...to say the least Hugo is overwhelmed with the response and really does appreciate everybody's input through the whole process .

Going to Euro so if you are do come and say hello to us on Stand 4

Looking forward for RP ...please do feel free to suggest by PM to either myself or Hugo any future ideas ...RP will listen to all

I spoke to Hugo yesterday who is so busy with work commitments but will respond to posts .

Happy modelling

Excellent choice to stop and catch the errors.

Not all manufacturers listen to comments.

This is a big figure, it will be very successful.

Napoleonics are not my period of historical interest, so I know from nothing about the discussions about the sabretache or the placement of the musket or the eagle...but it's interesting to read you guys articulating passionately about it.

Way Cool that Hugo gets the listening-to-the-customers thing. (y);) Even if he disagrees with the opinion and/or the reference, he still listens.
IMO this makes for happy, involved and most importantly REPEAT customers in any business. And with the figure market so small...

All you other figure makers please take note. The bar just got raised!

All the best,
Dan

Hello Vitalino...

Thank you for the comment...

About the weapon I already explain why we put in the left, but you can put in right side... There are no problem...

About the sabretach there are no good references about the period... And I have to talk with a TCol expert in Napoleon Armies, and they told us... To put the eagle... there are no refernces about that... And was you can see, the paint arent enough good... And the information is very 'empty', so we put the eagle, and I dont see why is wrong, but you can change, because your skills are very, but very good...

And like NAP said, the important is enjoy the figure and paint... I hope see one them paint by you...

Thank you for your friendship and support...
Big ugg and take care...
Hugo

hi Hugo

Great work to start...

may I ask you were you found the sabretache on this troops? I checked many documents but they didn't show it.
Non sure that the dromedaries troops didn't have it but Rousselot Rigo and many others don't give the object to this soldier.
In any case the eagle is wrong. Napoleon adopted the eagle as a symbol when became emperor... years later

attached some example of revolutionary sabretache.

another interesting point is the sword... we are speaking on a simple soldier, strange that he can have a mameluke sword. Is more norma that he continue to use his old sword with the classic suspension system

Hi Ivo ,

Thank you for the input I can speak on Hugo's behalf on some points The sabretasche is being changed to one with the pre Empire design as in your references , with all other Empire eagles being removed as well .

I think the sabretache will be separate but not sure if so then it could be left off if wished , as for the sword ...lets say it was something he has "found" and acquired ...agree it's more like an officers but who can be 100% .

You are IMO a respected artist and full of knowledge on Napoleonic era and RP appreciate your input
