A piece of this size and complexity requires excellent modelling skills to bring it to a finish lik the one above and you certainly got what it takes.Absolutely fantastic!

Hello Oda, thanks for your kindly words. I do this paintingwork for 30 years now and every time I learn new technics.
The lesson for now was how can I give the dromadery the action/speed to the base. The position of the body to the dessertbase and how to fix the "weak" legs to the base? One idea was to use some cotton wool to "mimic" a dust cloud. I was suprised about it and it solves 2 problems: how can I hide the fix to the base and how can I give the dromedary the speed...

Excuse me for my English, but I hope you understand me.

I understand you perfectly and your tips are very interesting and helpful indeed.I plan to do a dromedary at some point so I would be very interested to know what colours you have used for yours.

Nice. this prompted an order to SK on Christmas Eve. Anyone else remember the Dromedaires released by Series77 in the early 1970's?

    Hi Oda,
I use Humbrol enamel for painting.
It is a mix of no 133 satin brown, 62 matt leather, 63 matt sand, 27 matt khaki and 34 matt white.
    Basic is 25-25-25-25 > 133-62-63-27.
    Shadow is more 133 (brown)and 62 (leather).
Highlight is more 63 (sand) and 34 (white). The legs are nearly 34 (white).

When it is finished I varnished with Testors spray lacquer.

I hope it helps. Humbrol is perhaps unknown but you can use the colors described above.
