    Hi guys,

Some photos of my (almost) completed figure depicting my dad on National Service in Cyprus, 1957. Nearly finished, this just needs some dusting around the boots and a little touching in here and there and a nameplate adding. Painted in acrylics.

Apologies for the slightly blue tinge to the pics, I dont seem to be able to "warm" them up, as the sun is so bright in the conservatory!!

    Thanks for looking,

    Steve

    That looks terrific Steve.

Well worth the effort I know you put into it.

Thanks chaps! All the colours were referenced by the old man! The shirt was the normal UK one, no tropical concession and the trousers were well-worn denims! He did make the heady heights of lance -corporal, but that wasn't until he came home!(y)

This is great. I've been looking more at post war (ww2) Brits lately so it's interesting to see what you have been working on.
What scale is the figure and did you sculpt yourself?
    Cheers

Cheers guys - it is 120mm scale and mostly sculpted by me (new legs, shirt fasten, collar, refit of pouches, new arms and hands to hold the Sten, etc), based on an Imperial Gallery Chindit, with the head and helmet from another figure, again, much modified to improve the shape of the Mk4 Turtle Shell. The Sten is a Reedees item (thanks again, Steve).

I built two of these in tandem, but the second one is in Jungle Greens, with a bush hat, machete and an M1 carbine and is for my mate whose dad was in Malaya in the 50s. He has yet to paint it up, (although it might be coming back in my direction to paint...!)

    thanks again chaps,(y)
