The paint isn’t even completely dry on this figure from First Legion miniatures, and I just had to share it. A 75mm resin figure that was just recently released, I painted this in oils and acrylics.

Hi Glenn

https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/more.389156/watch-confirmGreat to see you posting this , a excellent figure and particularly well painted

What colours mix are you using for the red ?

Like the apron and the barrel work as well as the selection of food and drink she carries

Nicely done Glenn! Thanks for sharing your work!(y) Like the attention to detail. I am not familiar with First Legion kits. Can you share
your take on the casting, kit, attention to detail please? Would appreciate it very much!

Thanks Terry, glad you like it. And thanks to everyone for dropping by to offer their encouragement and kind words. To answer your question Terry, I found this figure to be exquisite. The fit was superb, and I only needed the smallest bead of putty to fill in one small gap under her right arm, which was the result of my clumsy attempt at pinning the arm to the torso. There were hardly any mold seams to speak of and they were easily cleaned up with a few swipes of my X-Acto blade.

This is the first resin kit I have from First Legion, the other two I bought were metal. They were also beautiful kits and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

This figurine is based on an illustration I made for the book “Bruges for Napoleon” of my good friend Bert Gevaert. I am quiet thrilled to see all the different interpretations. :)

A big thank you Apostata, for providing the inspiration for this figure. I am especially pleased that you like my version, and I am sure that you will be seeing many more versions soon.

Great work Glenn, you are just knocking out beautiful work lately. Well done. I hope to make Chicago next year. Beer.

Nice work Glen on a nice figure and you've got me thinking if this figure would match in with the Alexandros miniatures French infantry figure with scarecrow that I bought last year, it would make a nice colourful scene, I hate taking a chance with scales having been caught out many times before and a bit pricey to chance it.

As it happens, I have that very same Alexandros Models vignette in the display case, so I went down and did a quick comparison. To my eye, the Vivandiere is slightly smaller than the French Infantryman. And I don't mean height wise, I'm talking proportionally. His head, hands, and all the equipment seems to be just a little out of scale compared to the lady in question. For example, the drinking stein/mug fits her hand but would seem really tiny in his hand. So I think its that time honoured problem of scale and how that plays out from different manufacturers.
