All of us making model soldiers have found ourselves with the need to make bridles or sword suspension straps...
Pre-cut to size strips are included in Figurinitaly kits and are now available in the Figurinitaly Accessories range

They are the solution to many a headache we have had trying to cut the lead provided in the kits.
aresold in packs of 20 strips in the following sizes
width 1 mm thickness 0.2 mm
width 1 mm thickness 0.3 mm
width 1.5 mm thickness 0.3 mm

here is a photo and some examples of use Immagine WhatsApp 2023-11-03 ore 09.14.53_def41fe0.jpg

Great idea, I wonder why no one thought of this before.
I have brought lead foil from fishing tackle shops but it's cutting straight lines and the thickness you need.
    Well done.
(I did use toothpaste tubes till they went plastic)

having done some :) figures along the years I always tried to solve my trouble... first step was the spare head, then the spare horses and the hands... now I decided to share my solution for bridles and straps... simply

 Same here, Mike,....ahh, the endless fun of keeping a straight-edge steady while you blunt scalpel blades. And wine bottle tops aren't what they were......
Hope you're keeping dry down there, mate.

Great idea Ivo, any chance of Buckles and rings to go with them? Rings on Sabretashes etc, hard to replace if you are a less competent modeller, even more of a problem now with resin kits as they are so vulnerable, Chronos have put etched replacements in some of their kits I am told.

I agree wholeheartedly, buckles are more of a headache to make than the strips themselves. I assume the strips shown here are appropriate to 54mm. I would also buy if produced for 75mm and 120mm.

Okay....lead strips are a good thing and I'll have to step up for some of these. Question for the audience: What is your preferred primer for lead?

in my kits I add photo engraved buckles and bites, maybe in the future I will market those parts... I am working on some new things but it is too early to be discovered... stay tuned

my products are basically dedicated to 54 / 60 mm figures.

but the 1.5 mm wide strips can also be used in different scales, depending on what you want to reproduce.

These are amazing for making belts, straps etc. I have only been able to find them in one size up to now.

Already done by a Russian company: Silver Dreams. They are superb.

Back in the day there was a trick used to improve details
on metal strip 'harnessing'. A little tool designed for cutting
stencils was run along the outer edges of the foil strip to
emulate 'stitches' on the 'leather'......anally retentive perhaps
but a nifty bit of detail...eh?

Got a website for Silver Dreams?

    Here: https://en.spbsouvenir.ru/

But there is nothing to indicate that the sword blades can be purchased… at least they are not listed separately that I could find.

We are currently out of town so I do not have access to my favorites list on my computer. But I just did a Google search and found them in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I don’t see a parts (swords, halberds, etc) list on the site but you could email them about that.
I placed a large order including some custom made items a few years back. They make beautiful steel items that will not break like plastic and resin. They are really good to deal with.
