Such a sad loss but he had a great life my friend right to the end with someone who obviously thought only what was best for him

    Best wishes

What I accomplished at the workshop in Goslar:

Eyes, nose and cheeks are painted - these colors were used ...:

And so it looks now ...:

I will not conceal the fact that I was advised to mix a red with the face color. I tried with "English red", but immediately re-painted, because I did not like it at all!

So, as it is now, I like the hue ...

This week I will unfortunately hardly come to painting, it is simply too much different. So the next weekend at Markus' workshop will probably go on ...

I've struck the night in front of the gossip and watched the US election thriller live. At 3 o'clock I happened to look out of the window and see the early winter break. So early it has never snowed here, since I live in Bremen ...:

In the meantime, however, almost everything has been thawed away again ...

Besides, I painted the first cheek today. Hereby, I tried to implement a friend's tip and make the shadows even deeper.

To achieve this I mixed for the deepest shadows - careful! - some violet to my colors...:

I am quite satisfied with the result - especially since the light / dark contrasts are somewhat more pronounced. The desk lamp, under which I have photographed the head, equals there nevertheless some ...:

Today I continue with the wide open mouth!
I do not know how you are, but open mouths are not painted every day, so it is worth taking a look at the "original" to see what is happening in color ...:

Let's start with the tongue - for this I took these colors, the deep "line" in the middle of the tongues (where the main tendon runs) was painted significantly darker ...:

Next step are the interdental spaces - with a mix of these colors ...:

Acrylics because I can continue to work with oil paints immediately, without waiting for drying or smearing anything.

Then the teeth themselves - not completely white, but "ivory", even if they look from some distance then "white". If you look at the "Origial pics" above again, then I'm not so wrong!

Well - up to the lips the mouth is ready!

The lips themselves are not red, but rather brownish with a very discreet tick in the red. The original photos above reveal to us that the contrast of the lips to tanned facial skin is not so great.

For the lips I have therefore taken these colors ...:

And - voila! - the finished mouth ...:

Oh, and here is a quick comparison of the size between the original head of the bust and the pictures...:

Tomorrow I will continue with the chin ...

Preparations for the journey - Tomorrow morning we will go to the workshop at Markus.

    The torso is drilled ...

    ... carefully washed ...

... comes with a toothpick on a cork and is primed ...:

Afterwards, the torso and the half-finished head are carefully packed and protected against damage ...:

First of all:The workshop at Markus was worth every damn kilometer railway ride!
We were only three - and I felt this was a huge advantage, because the thing was more like an intensive coaching - especially since Markus sat next to me and painted the same figure.

And all this in the green Alpine foothills - and when you looked out of the window, you could see the snowy Alps chain.

    Great!
Let's get to the actual content of the event:
I had taken the torso of the fighting Cossack and wanted to come as far as possible.
Just remember:There I wanted to go:

Our friend is a Sotnik (First Lieutenant) of the 2nd Plastoon-Batallion of the Terel-Cossacks.
The first thing was the dark blue Beshmet (caucasian: shirt).
I had been warned both by Mark and by Benedict: there are beautiful dark blue oil colors - but they tend to shine like the devil!
Nevertheless, I wanted to paint the emblem with oil - accompanied by a friendly-skeptical
The finished oil spill was immediately washed down again - one should at least be able to listen to experts!
    Second start with acrylics:

And lo and behold - I liked it much better ...:
Markus had also painted his Beshmet in blue, also with acrylic, but a tinge brighter. My colors are the left on the next picture, which from Markus you see right ...:

Here our two Cossacks stand side by side - I was satisfied!

When I got up from the Table, I once looked at the clock - she showed 2 clock at night! The time had passed as if in flight!
