The figure depicts a German paratrooper Oberfeldwebel (sergeant major) sporting the tropical clothing donned by these troops in Italy during the last phase of the war and a jump smock in splinter camouflage pattern.
Interestingly, he is armed with a FG42 (G model) assault rifle, the second version of the Fallschimhägerwehr 42. These assault rifles were specially designed for paratroopers and first documented use took place during the daring rescue of Mussolini at the Gran Sasso in September 1943.

I like this one - very natural. Yes WW2 again but it feeds my paratroopers obsession.

    Matt :
Pegaso had the "TEMPLAR Knight" madness at the time... we got the Templars in all the possible positions (except the sleeping one !.... aouch, I should have said nothing about that, they will surely propose a sleeping templar now...

Wow, very cool figure. Will probably have to splurge on this series one of these days....

And to anyone complaining about another german figure: please stop doing so. I also politely keep quiet when there is yet another napoleanic templar figure....

Having said that, it would be very cool to have a WW2 british para in this series...are you listening Andrea please?

I do like this one. I have all their new releases with the exception of the pilot and ground crewman. Must have in my onion.
As a fan of WWII; I too would like to see a wider range of selection.

Generally if I see a company comes out with a specific line of figures and that line has a German Iron Cross as its symbol, I would think it would be a waste of time to ask them to do a Venetian Captain.:p
This figure line keeps taking hits (price, selection) but I can tell you some of the scales do not stay in stock for long, at least here in the states.

Why only WW2 Germans? Surely there are plenty of other nationalities you can present.

I look at it this way, If it sells that is good regardless of the subject matter. If it sells really well then one can surmise they will branch out into other subjects. That being said however as these figures are all taken from Andrew Mollo colour plates which in turn are from WW2 photographs; I doubt they will base any Napoleonics on the same base reference material!

I'll be getting this latest one as I'm getting Fallshirmjaeger figures sorted for a Rome 1943 dio.

There are a few Allied figure plates that I would jump over if they were released and if a few of them that could be made with separate arms to allow for conversions of them that would be even better.

    Regards,

    Andrea Europe,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our posts. When I see this happen my respect for you grows, as it has with other companies (Alpine, CGS, MMM, Altores, strm trprs, etc etc).

It is apparent that we like the new line of figures, and that your artists will expand upon the range in the future. The fact that you offer them in the various scales is also amazing. I prefer to paint in 1/16 scale for single figures, however when I want to accent vehicles models in smaller scales your offering plays right in to the build.

As I look back at all of the posts with each new release of figures in this line. I see positive member posts out ways the negative ones, and to be honest I don't think that they are really negative in the overall thread.

As I wrote this I went back and looked at my collection of Andrea figures. I can say that I have a lot of them (I stopped counting at 50), ranging from single 54 mm figures, to the big U boat conning tower kit, not to mention all the paint bottles! One other thing that I have noticed is I have not bought any of your new figures in the last 5 years. The reason is, I can no longer afford to buy them as the pricing is too high. Every business has to make a profit, otherwise they would not exist. So this is not a negative or personal comment towards your company. I feel that it is a request from a customer to see if this can be improved? We are in the an incredible time for figures and modeling, new figures and model kits are being released weekly. Each release is placed on a wish list to purchase. That list now gets prioritized by what I can afford. With this in mind "help me to help you with my wish list and your sales increasing."

I applaud the new line of figures and how the artists have stepped up the level of their work. I look forward to seeing what the next release will be and how the company will expand the range of it offerings in this field.

    Cheers !

    Todd,

No "artists" were used in the creation of this line. They are 3D scans taken from models wearing the uniforms. This is yet another example of automation taking jobs away from real people.....
