The devil is in the detail, and you have really captured the colours and detail, 10/10

Thank you for the comments too Tony. The figure was my first in acrylics - unfortunately I gave it away as a retirement present! Luckily I have the pictures though. I'm having a go with a Foxwood figures Normandy period British Infantry figure at the moment.

You're making a cracking job with your para mate.

    Cheers,

great job with the figure, DPM is hoofin mate.

can anyone answer me this though, did the paras wear wings and regimental ID flashes on their smocks during the falkands?

I've been commissioned to do 2 paras with 2 and 3 para drop zone patches, but cant find any reference to them wearing in any photos from the conflict.

Worn on Para smocks, but not on Arctic's Tam.
Union jacks on Arctic's, not on smocks.
    Jimmy might confirm that though,

Sorry for the delay Jimmy, also a lot going on at the moment, I don't know if I have a job today. But anyway, have done weathered dirty cammo's instead of greens, if you do not like I will change.. Gun started and gloves blocked in, hands were tweaked to get the gun To sit as is... Hope it is ok, or do you think the weathering is overdone?

I need to use another light source, this one makes it look shiny.

Hi, Tony, one thing I pointed out to Moz, after I had ordered mine, was the carrying of the gpmg, the way it is carried on the figure with the butt on the outside of the right forearm, is not practical, as far as I know you carried as if you were going to use it, from the standing position with the butt tucked under your right arm, so if you came into contact you could squeeze the butt into your body to control the weapon, for an immediate response to any threat, Moz sent me two right arms, one with a space in it so the butt of gun could be fitted under the right arm, did he send you one? sorry for nit picking the paint is fantastic,
    another one,,
I think the head should be looking forward, if he is looking left he would have angled his body slightly left to respond, it is a response you are trained to do when moving with the gun, so you can put fire down immediately in the direction of the threat.

Jimmy, I would destroy it trying to remove the arm, it's well bonded on, will see if I can tweak the hands, did think about rotating the gun down and turning the left hand upside down so it is resting on top of the barrel and not under it, think that will work? That way the gun would be neither behind or over the right arm, simply over it... Head is not an issue, it is only blu tacked on, for pics.

Hi Tony, this photo was just a group of blokes from 2 Para posing, the war had finished, that's why there not holding the weapon correctly, as soon as I got my figure I knew it was wrong, Moz did mention the photograph, but as you can see, it is a sort of off duty posing picture, even the Argy`s could carry them correctly when required :) Tony did you get two right arms in your kit?

    Fabulous work.

My only suggestion would be to 'muddy' the elbows and the bottom pockets of the smock a bit, along with the knees these areas get the most wet / dirtiest due to all the delightful crawling you do as an infantry soldier...

But you have done a superb job - wish my painting was half as good.

    Thanks James :)

Jimmy I only had one arm which is the one fitted, and I would destroy it trying to get it off as it was bonded to stay put. I would also struggle painting it as I had to paint the whole smock then weather it, doing it piecemeal would make it look wrong, as I would never match it. Fraid it is to far along to do anything about it now. Might be able to move hands, but the arm I am afraid is there to stay for the above reasons.
