    Hi guys,

Here's my latest. This is a 90mm classic from Pegaso released around 25 years ago or so. That's how long it's been in my collection, and I'm so glad I finally got around to it. The biggest challenge was the Pavise (shield). The heraldry is freehand. I used acrylics throughout. Thanks for looking!

Such a good rendition of an older piece......surely worthy of a better set of
pictures. I know there is a fashion for moody black backgrounds and dark
contrasts these days, but they do the work no favours. I've taken the liberty
of turning the lights on (again) so we can see the painting skills shown here,
and yet still feel a sense of atmosphere.

That's beautiful. I painted a similar figure, but a smaller scale (54mm I think), 20 or so years ago, but nowhere near as nice as this.
And I chickened out of the freehand on the Pavise, I used some decals from an old 1/72 German kit I had laying about..

    Fogie,

You seem more interested in the photography than the miniature. My hobby is figure painting, not photography. I make adjustments to the pics to try to make them as accurate a reflection of the way the figure looks in person as I can. That is what is important to me. The pics are sometimes a bit dark, but I'm ok with that as long as the colors look right (or almost right, in this case). The black background is just part of my painting desk. No attempts to be fashionable or moody. Your version of my pic is certainly brighter, but you've washed it out and altered the colors. THAT is what, in my opinion as the creator of the piece, is doing the work no favors.
