Here's my entry for this month: a 1/9 bust of Capt. Joe Foss USMC at Guadalcanal in 1942. It's from Mitches Military Models and painted in oils and acrylics. I added the wiring for the headphones and a buckle for the chinstrap.

A sensitive piece but hopefully makes everyone take a breath to think. I showed this at the Long Island show last November. Special thanks to John Espey, Greg DFranco and Dennis Levy for their always helpful feedback.
I used a 1/35 Evolution stock figure, Hudson Allen barbed wire and the hanging cloth was made from putty.
Apologies for the photo quality as I used my phone camera.( click on for larger images )

Elmer Ephraim Ellsworth. WIKI says: Ellsworth was killed at the Marshall House on May 24, 1861 during the Union Army's take-over of Alexandria. During the month before the event, the inn's proprietor, James W. Jackson, had raised from the inn's roof a large Confederate flag that President Lincoln and his Cabinet had reportedly observed through field glasses from an elevated spot in Washington. Jackson had reportedly stated that the flag would only be taken down "over his dead body".
