    Aloha all.

Here is the above, scratchbuilt with Airfix ECW musket and 12 apostles. I drilled tiny holes in the belt to hang the charge containers. BTW, this figure was modelled on my friend Kenneth...

Nice conversion and great groundwork too.

    Thanks for kind comments

    Hi All,

    Thanks for the above.

The scale is 54mm, almost all my figures are in this scale. Figure was made about 4 years back. The musket is Airfix. Head is Nemrod, fingers are Historex, soaked in boiling water to soften and shape, rest is scratchbuilt. Groundwork was a bit of cork, with balsa/plastic fence, scored to look weathered and painted in brown with some grey to age it. Foliage is dried flowers and leaves overpainted with thinned oils.

I was basing this figure on Ken's phenotype. He does dress differently...:).

    Dear Basil,

Thanks for your kind comments. Kenneth's figures look nothing like me, being too old, grimy and too damned realistic...:) Rgds Victor

    More detailed pics

    Hi All,

I took two more pics to show some details.

The Musketeer is loading some powder into the priming pan. In his left hand, he is also holding the lighted match. The musket rest is tied to a rope to his left hand. The back shot shows some of the priming charges attached to his belt. The small pouch contains more lead shots and he has stuffed lots of matches around the pouch.

Pictures taken with a simple handphone camera instead of the expensive Samsung whatchacallit. Goes to show you its not the size of the tool....:)
