    Thanks for the nice feedback, David,

    I use a mixture of Brown Madder and English red from Winsor en Newton (30-70%)
    Than my first highlight is lightly done with ocher, than Naples yellow, than Naples yellow added some white.
    The darkest shadows are done with Brown Madder and purple.
    The cheeks are done added some burned sienna, a little red and just before the beard some purple (a little bit).
    All carefully blend together.
    Beside the nose I have added carefully some burned sienna.
    All was done whet on whet. (The face was done in about one hour).

    very nice bust with a great face! i like it so much, i just ordered one for myself. carl reid does great work on the sculpting. you do great work on the painting, as well.
