I decided to create a Dutch figure early second WW.

the battle lasted for 5 days or so, Holland wasn't prepared for a war.
Obsolete weapons ( some heavy guns were ordered in Germany but delivered without visors...) and their main weapon was the mannlicher of 1886.

Posting this tread also on a re- enactmentsite ( for different kind of reactions good idea) and collecting all I can get about details.
The Dutch soldier has never been so popular for research and I feel a bit obliged to do so.

knowing me it all starts with sketches :)

for eventual casting purpose I was inspired by my Harrisbuste.
Hands in this scale are hard to cast unless mounted on to something.

    René,

a Dutch soldier of may 1940 is always a great idea !
I've build several in 54mm. Attached you'll find some pictures that might be of help.
The main weapon was a Mannlicher based gun build by the Dutch factory Hembrug and known as the M95.

    succes, Eric

    thanks guys!

    Eric,
I never have seen any of your figures which regrets me.
especially when regarding we're fellow countrymen.

working on the helmet now, the rifle will be taken care of by a riflespecialist :)

    Rene,

looks great ! One thing: don't you think the helmets needs a deeper curve at the back?
I've tryed to past a picture of a real M27 helmet in your last photo to show you what I meen. The area indicated in red.....

    cheers, Eric

    yes thanks Eric,

it's just a start to have something to work on. Helmets are made in different stages.
    the curve will be important.
The head underneath only has a carrying purpose for the oven, a new one will be provided.

I have a Stratocaster sculpted. Get it from Lee van Quang.
The only thing i have to do is sculpting a bust of Stevie Ray just like in the avatar.
There was once a guy here at the forum who promised years ago to do that, but never hear anything.

you should have posted his strat and ask: Who..:)?

    is it 1/9? or bigger?
The strat I actually know in an anatomic way but switched to the spanish guitar.
