Hi friends, I post my latest work, all painted with acrylic paints. This is a figure given me some time ago by John Schley, and finally, I decided to paint.
    I hope you enjoy it!
    Fabrizio

Well done, especially on the coat, white is a bear to work with sometimes.

I'm not familiar with the Dublin Volunteers--if I didn't know better, I'd have said they opened for Tommy Makem and the Irish Rovers :D Where did they serve or where were they deployed?

    Prost!

Very nicely done. I've got this figure sitting in my closet. Your work here makes me want to get started on him!

Brad, as I understand it the Irish Volunteers were local militias raised during the 18th century to protect Ireland from the Spanish and French while the red coats were off in America. There's a painting by Francis Wheatley in 1779 where you can see two of these drummers (front right facing away and in the middle behind other troops facing forward).

Thanks, Bailey! That was one thought that I had. The Brits had a similar wave of locally raised units during the Seven Years War, too, if I'm not mistaken, for the same reasons.

    Prost!
    Brad
