I think his cover (hat) needs to sit down lower on his head. Notice on the real guy (R. Lee Ermy) it at about the level of his eyebrows. Also, it should probably sit a little lower in the front. DI's tend to wear them as such. And I think the brim is a little small and should be absolutely flat, not slightly turned up. I'm a little picky about the subject, having been exposed to their unique brand of hospitality for 3 months at Parris Island.

Having looked at it, it might not be so much that the brim isn't wide enough, but that the ratio of brim to crown is off, the crown MAYBE being too tall?

    Couple of pics for reference

As a former Drill Instructor, the Drill Instructors "Cover" should touch the top of the eyebrows. As for the rest of the uniform AAAAurrAHHH Marine Corps.

A hat will be cut of head as a separate part. That it can be better cast head . It is now slightly higher hat on his head. Everything will be as it has byť.It is only WIP. And thank you for your constructiv comments.(y)

Hate to nit pick it, but one other thing you may want to adjust is the collar. Its a little skinny and perhaps too gaping. Note the size of the lapels, and how much shirt and tie can be seen

Oh, and thanks for doing this and posting it as a WIP, and not waiting until its finished to ask for opinions. Its a lot more helpful this way!
    Cheers

    Impressive once again Offo.
Your ideas are usually original and it's always a pleasure to see what is next.
