Got hold of this bust the other day , it's 1/5 scale 3D sculpt from freeform 3D printing in Melbourne
Mawson was a geologist , academic and Antarctic explorer and a much loved and respected figure in Australia
Got a start on it laying the oils on the face the basics are done and now to work up the flesh colour
Thought i'd share with you a hope to finish this over the next few weeks
    All comments and criticisms welcome
    Cheers
    Al

Nice face. To be honest I'd not heard of the gentleman so thanks for the enlightenment. At first glance I thought from a distance he was a medieval figure... sorry.

    Cheers

Very nice start Al. I still have my doubts about the ability of 3D printers to create a totally smooth surface for painting faces, so I'll be keen to hear how you found this one.

I really like the 1/5th scale so I think I'll have to jump on board and get the Monash bust as we discussed.

Oils to the face and beard still a bit too much sheen but will settle over the next 24 hrs
