I realise this guy is super skinny but do you ever pack the wire with foil? If so is there anything you need to do to the foil or will the clay adhere ok?
    Thanks,
    Scotty.

Jim, once again you cram your figures full of character. The elongated look works very well. A great tribute to Gary's bust.

    Hi Scotty
No I never bother using foil for packing the wire, I just build up with layers of milliput & then sometimes add magic sculpt as a final layer if need be.

Wrapping copper wire tightly in a chaotic pattern around foil helps to give putty more things to catch on to.

He looks great Jim, And you've done him in quicker time than it took me to think about him in the first place (y)(y).
Though Nap is right about the Donkey, after all, he is a Hote and every Hote needs his Donkey :facepalm::woot:.
    Best wishes, Gary.

Thanks Gary, Glad you like him & hope you think I done your bust justice by "adding" on to him, must admit I've really enjoyed doing this one & he's come out how I hoped he would.
Thanks for your input mate all very much appreciated....Don't think I'll be doing a donkey though! ;)

It was great meeting up at the Avon show yesterday. Nice to see the lance you were working on is now in hand, so to speak; and I like the way you've added the extension.
The whole piece looks fantastic and I look forward to seeing the painting progress.

You've certainly done him justice Jim, it's just a shame that those who have played the part on stage and screen can't see him because you've really captured the mood (y)(y)(y).
Dammit!, now when I've finished what I'm doing, I'll have to get seriously onto another bust :(:).

Thanks Gary, I wouldn't have done it without your inspiration that I got from your Don Q bust, I think this is the first time I've added on to a "true" bust & not a half figure, so it was a challenge & enjoyable at the same time.....whats the next bust you have in mind? it wouldn't be Sancho would it? ;):)

I don't think you're going to want to put legs on the one I've got on the go at the moment, because the way I've got him posed he has a horse under him :LOL:.
    Best wishes, Gary.

You sure that's not a donkey Gary ......

I would like to see Sanchos and the donkey as busts only , reckon they would look great as a trio with the animal in the middle ...slightly cartoonish if you understand ..grinning perhaps teeth showing...

    Over to you Mr H
