Hi P'fers,
In between some sculpting projects I've thrown in a little painting project.
Dolmans Miniatures 17th Lancer, mostly white metal and two resin parts (torso and upper legs). I wanted to change the existing helmet shape over to a more accurate version of foriegn service pattern that was worn, (IMHO).
So I filed, sanded and scalped that back, most narrowing the width and shaping the front and back. After that I used a thin layer of magic sculp to add in the panels and band, and then sanded back again to remove any bulk. Plus I added a campaign grown beard as well, I may still add a pipe.
Alterations and clean up of the various parts done, I then primed, painted the face and hands first and finished it off with the stained helmet.

Currently onto the tunic and trousers, blocking in a dark mix of Vallejo dark Prussian blue and black mix, and gradually adding back slightly lighter tones.
Cheers.

Thank you very much Viking Bob, I rightly or wrongly seem to get a little antsy when it comes to the helmets produced for the AZW.

I would buy more AZW if they got the helmet right, my skillset for a re-sculpt is nil.
