    Jeff .... many thanks :)

    uniform painting .....

using 3 colours to try and get this looking as sharp and as sculptural as possible, the left leg is almost finished the rest has had some serious work but there are several hours left to tighten it up properly.

oh and i don't have an ss arm eagle, as there aint one in the lionroar set, anyone got a spare???? :)

    Hello Mark,

Beautiful figure, the face are gourgeous and the field grey uniform are very well reproduced, but I have a question, you saw any photos of an SS with a splinter camo on the helmet:confused:
Everything is possible, but splinter camo are for Heer and Luftwaffe.

    Regards from Portugal

Hi Pedro! thanks for the comments :) i decided on the wermacht helmet cover and that could have splinter. i know i'm pushing it a bit but thought i'll probably get away with it .... DOH! ;)

    update.........

spent several hours trapped at home due to the amount of tourists here in Whitby :) so i had fun!

almost happy with the uniform, but needs a last few tweaks to get it just right, started on the leather :( i hate doing leather.......

    :)

oh i took a pic next to a bottle of paint, this feels like a big figure at 1/16th but they are still quite small. ........

Steve J .... thanks :) the etched parts are something i will use from now on, just so sharp!

Jeff .... many thanks! crisp is good! ( probably :) )

Anders ... thanks again. i really like the DML figures and i can trace my re-discovery of figure painting back to one specific DML figure :)

    base work .....

i bought a set of the 120mm scenic moulds from Form-u-lay earlier this year, today i poured some plaster of paris and got chopping!

the idea is that he has burst from a side street and sees a target. the building still needs trimming to the base shape which is pretty narrow at the back. should be ok with lots of rubble and debris clogging the street.

oh and he's just about finished :)

    revised base........

the 1st base did'nt work :( the big vertical at the back just made the pose look really static so i went for a much simpler urban wreckage look.....

i think it works better now :)

I agree with your choice Mark. You don't want your base competing with your figure for attention. This new base clearly makes the figure the center of attention, as it should be, but still provides a context for the figure. Well done.
