I made these brush rests from scrap wood and wire. The wire is curved around a dowel or brush handle to form the half round.

A more elegant solution than my own. I took a ball of poster tack and rolled it into a cigar shape. I was working out of a tool box tray, so it was a quick-and-dirty solution.

On my bench, though, I've got some old glass dentist's trays. Dentists used them to organize tools, chair-side.

You could probably make a bunch of these and sell 'em.

    Prost!

    A followup...

I made myself a wire paintbrush rest, too, but then went in another direction, and made myself these brush rests with Apoxie Sculpt. I was thinking of chopstick rests.

I gave them a couple coats of Krylon white gloss enamel.

Whatever the tool, it makes it easier to pick up brushes from the bench top, during a working session.

Thanks for sharing your idea, because it sparked my own!

    Prost!
