Disaster

    House flooded in torrential rain storm , five rooms wrecked ,will be a long time painting with a 4 inch brush and roller , just locked the door and popped down to the south of France .
    Back now and pulling up flooring ,stripping plaster off walls and tearing down celings .
    What a fekin mess.

    will be some time before I grasp a 000 windsor and newton 7 series again :eek:

    This has happened to me a few years ago, so I can understand well how you feel now and how much work is waiting for you now.

    Steve this is not funny the hoose is in fekin chaos five rooms wrecked . scottish water tailed to maintain the drains . all part of the demise ot the UK

    Aren't Scottish water liable due to not maintaining the drains ?

    In truth the drains in and around Glasgow are little better or worse than just about any city.
    Major works are underway but the problem is the massive community disruption that is caused by increasing the drain capacity brings its own special misery. Its a bit of a no win situation. What's happening in the south side of the river Clyde is a huge main drain is being created. Where Ron lives is north of the river in one of the highest areas of the city with, in some parts extremely high value houses and even if it was practical to install a major drain it would meet with resistance from some of these owners.
    This is just down the road ffrom Rons and bear in mind this was the start of June.
