Maybe someone here can help me
some years ago I saw a documentary about the russian front during WO 2. Briefly they mentioned a russian army (or part of an army) who didn't perform well enough (according to Stalin) and were defeated. Stalin ordered not to burry the dead soldiers as a reprisal. In the late eighties argaeologists found the bones in what's now woodland and eventually burried them.
Does anybody have some information what army it was and who the commanding general was? Or any info whatsoever?
