Hi guys, this is my attempt to sculpt something similar to Cthulhu. Is still a wip, and nothing is done, only the face is more detailed, but still need a lot of work. Here some pics of the wip:

Thank you, Zane. I prefer, when possible, to make a single "cooking". For now has not yet gone into the oven.

Hi Carmine, I wasn't sure at first,(this sort of face gave me the creeps on Doctor Who), but this is just getting better and better!
    Best wishes, Gary.

It does seem churlish to critise such a great scult, but he seems too beautiful (if that's the right word) or heroic for my taste. I always like to picture him (it?) as more other-worldly, creepy and decayed. Nevertheless a brilliant reimagining! Maybe he could be an ancient acolyte from the same cosmos?

    Thank you very much, guys.

    TADATSUGU:
You are right, TADATSUGU. Although I did with these considerations at the beginning of the work with a dear friend (he is a painter). During the initial stages I had two choices: A) create a texture of the skin monstrous / demonic, or B) create a texture much cleaner and more "humanoid".

I opted for the version B), because it is one that allows multiple interpretations, without having to do an "heavy" work with putty. You can 'give a different texture with brushes, but at the same time, with a little patience and sputty, you can add lumpy, bony growths, pustules, etc. .. If I had realized these things in the beginning, I would have "forced the painter to paint in only one way (... could just change the color), or the painter would have to do an " heavy "work of sculpture, remove the unwanted parts and resculpt the new parts.

After a long time I'm back to PF and I had to just stop at this excellent work. Really gorgeous figure. Great progress and the result is fantastic. Beautiful drapery, great anatomy. The decor is great and my very corresponds to my idea of Cthulhu myth. Much looking forward to the whole statue done in detail. He wants to still improve membrane wings, but I'm sure about it. Beautiful, congrats. (y)

    Cheers Borek
