CSS Hunley 120mm scratch built hull and Lt. Dixon vingette..(pics)

    This is my in-progress scratch build of a Hunley hull section. Base kit is the Military Miniatures Warehouse Lt. Dixon w/ partial hull. The base kit hull is just not well formed, so I set about making one. It is a balsa core with sheet styrene glued over it. I have added about 400 grant line rivets. About ready for paint. The other kits are the Verlinden 54mm full-hull and half-hull. I also have a 54mm figure of General PT Beuregard to add. It will all be one big display with the half-hull in "water" the full hull in "dry-dock" and the 120mm vingette as well.

    That is really cool and so much better than the original. I had a chance many years ago to see the original when it was in Charleston. It was before they opened it up. It was really cool and moving at the same time. I look forward to seeing more of this one.
