Cricut or Cameo?

    Hi all-
I have some ideas for diorama work that involve complex masking. My wife is an elementary school teacher who does a lot of pre-cutting for crafts with students. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with plotting cutters like Cricut or Silhouette, because we are thinking about getting one.

As far as I can tell, Cricut is simpler and more Mac friendly (we are a Mac household), while Silhouette has a more robust design space, but has a steeper learning curve. That's a bit moot, as I would likely do most designs in Procreate or another program and just upload them.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendation on these machines? Thanks for any input!

Sorry, I don't have experience myself. For what it's worth, members of my one scale modeling club use Cricut machines for making masks for canopies and camouflage patterns on armor, ships.
    That probably doesn't help, though.

    Prost!

No, it does. There’s lots of info on these, but it becomes an overload. Just hearing that other folks are using them in this way is good. I’m leaning toward cricut anyway :)
