As I am now doing all the shopping and house chores these days .
Ive decided to only shop once a week given the danger of the supermarket visits so that should
cut the chance of covid to 4 in 30 odds but might just go to 1 in 30 should things get much worse or even cut out the supermarkets and go to the independent trade who is only letting 1 or 2 in at a time .

Just a bit of useless info to while away these boring days :D

Good luck ..we don't go to supermarkets now and have since we moved here 2 years ago always shoped local .....I say we as I am just the bag carrier as SWMBO dreads to send me shopping !!!!

    Most importantky stay safe Ron

Sensible move Ron. If the Supermarkets up there are anything like ours, they are full of folk who really don't get how contagious this little bugger is. Reduce contact, stay in and shop local.
We had our first vacs this afternoon - a whole lot sooner than I was expecting TBH, but I'm under no illusions as to the duration of this incarceration.

Great you got your vacs ,that was quick , don,t expect anything hear for a while yet even now am hurtling along towards 73

Hurtling along - I like that. I will collide with 74 in nine days:grumpy: - that'll spoil my NCB

    You are both young pups.

Don’t the supermarkets and other shops offer ordering over the internet and home delivery so you don’t have to visit the shop? They do here and it works well. Put in an order and it’s delivered within a day or two. They introduced it quite quickly after Covid hit.

We have that option here where we shop but myself and wife are not spring chickens. But neither one of us are using a cane or walker yet so you have to just kick yourself in the ass and get out there with the rest of the assholes and keep your distance and stay safe.

Me too Wayne. I still totter down to the local supermarket and do our shopping, and the setup there is good with sanitisers, etc.

We are extraordinarily lucky here as the Federal Government set up a National Cabinet with the State Governments as soon as Covid became evident, and they all put in place a national strategy with only essential businesses and services allowed to remain open, travel restrictions, including closed borders to hotspots, and no international travel in or out of the country, except to repatriate Australians who had to go into 14 days quarantine. Consequently, we have pretty much contained the virus across the country, although lately we have had a few cases in Brisbane and Sydney, and things are almost back to normal except for social distancing and limits on number attending sports venues and restaurants. Where I live we haven't had a locally transmitted case since early May last year, and only three cases from people returning from overseas. New Zealand appears to have eliminated it with very strict lockdowns early, and have closed the border to all international travel.

The situation in the US, UK and Europe is concerning and our thoughts are with you. Hopefully the vaccination rolls out quickly over there.

    Take care and stay safe,

Problem here in the UK is mixed messages. The government change their story daily, the statistics quoted are at best questionable, the MSM are determined to frighten the pants off everyone while not missing the slightest opportunity to pan the government, consequently we are well behind the curve. Add to that a generally unruly population and there you have it. Rant over....:D

I understand..and it’s universal except for a few countries ...but that not the point here..this is about fellow member who are actually stricken, and with small makers sick, families ill..

Just note: self indulgence is not sympathy.

Are you still having to wear masks?

Relatively easy to do though when you're an island nation with a low population density, 5 times more sheep than people and your nearest neighbour is 1200 miles away!

    Hi all

Without doubt this virus will continue to affect all for a long while , we all need to adhere and do things to keep ourselves , family and friends safe

As modellers we are lucky in that we can keep reasonably occupied albeit in a lockdown

Use PF to keep in contact , share your benchtime and enjoy the interaction

As grasshopper says there are members affected and also in the front line so thoughts are with them all

I have seen this virus first hand ....enough said

    Stay safe eveveryone
