    Hi all,

I was just wondering what would be the best undercoat for Gold Leaf paint? I tried to paint the Gold Leaf over a white undercoat and it did not take so well. Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards

IMHO dark browns do the best under yellow metals; burnt umber, something like that.

Yup, what Steve said. I use Raw Umber, but it's just a fav.

Hi, I use a dark brown (acrylic) as undercoat for gold and black for silver.
    Best Regards
