Some more work on painting John Shaw. I have nearly finished the figure. A little bit more sculpting on the horse and then ready to paint.:)

Absolutely brilliant -- considering it's a 54mm,all the details work perfectly. The steel looks like steel(y) Great stuff, John

Nice work so far. The sculpt is excellent and the paintwork is beautiful... I like your painting style, not overdone, crazy highlighting style... much more clean and subdued.

Really looking forward to seeing how you deal with the horse...

Thanks Alan, appreciate your words mate. glad you like the steel work. I usually use printers inks for this but thought I would try the Vallejo Air acrylic metallic.which is a much finer pigment to the model colour metallics. The colour I used for the sword and scabbard was chainmail silver .Must admit I was very impressed with the metal finish for acrylic. (y)

Same as above mate. I'm looking forward to seeing the horse take color but I'm especially interested in seeing your take on the soggy ground work.
