Hello, I've made a start on this classic sculpted by Keith Durham. I've wanted to paint this for years but had to wait until Bonapartes re-released it recently. The new casting is excellent.

The face is pretty much finished in acrylics, as is the red collar. I filled the holes in the eyes with a small amount of putty before undercoating. I couldn't decide how to paint the armour, whether to use the metal and polish it or not, but in the end I undercoated it and will try to paint it using acrylic silver paint and washes of black/brown. I also decided to have him standing on a rock, rather than the Aztec statue that comes with the kit. I am going to do my best to create a small jungle scene. I'd like to add a tree and plants. Not sure how this will work out! As usual my photos aren't the best..

Edward

Great start on an all time classic figure Edward.
I always like your painted metal style, so I am waiting with interest for your next step.

Looking good Edward. I've got most of Keiths figures for PM painted and a few duplicates in the GA.
I've always thought that his figures had something that others at that time lacked, they seem to have an attitude and a real sense of context that allowed the modeller to push the groundwork and display quite a bit. great job on the face particularly on the eyes.
I'll follow this with interest.
Cheers

This should be interesting Edward ,face looks great ,remember this one from my previous modelling life it was one of the crispest castings you ever did see.

Great work so far on this classic figure Edward, think these figures still hold up well today.Have got a couple lurking in the grey army as well and always buy them if I see them at shows.
