I painted this piece for my brother this year. Looked on line for civil war era quilt patterns and tried this. A Mig Productions bust that I enjoyed so much, I bought another that is waiting in the wings.

Thoughts and critiques are useful and appreciated.

    Hi Kevin,

Very nicely done, you have given life to what is a fairly plain bust. The patterning is not only brave but very well executed.

Keith, Mike, Marc - Thanks! The pattern drove me nuts at times and it came close to being a black oil skin on more than one occasion! ;)

Costas, I'd love to see what you would do with this piece! I hope you do paint it!

Rob, Steve - Thanks glad you liked it. I got so involved in the pattern that I had to go back and shade / highlight at the end instead of before starting the design. Live and Learn!

Kevin, Very nice. I would not be surprised if you put as much time into the quilt than you did the rest of the figure. Look me up when you do that bust for yourself as I have a lot of nifty coverlet patterns you could pick from. ~Gary

    Thanks y'all!

I thought of doing the same pattern for the one I have for me but once was more than enough;)
