A Fixture
Probably the most well known of the Imperial German Colonial Forces - those of their Southwest African Colony.
Some of these photos go back to 1900; a few are possibly re-enactors (I'm not certain.) Example - the bandolier looks shiny and recently made.
My impression is that equipment, saddles, bridles, etc., used on the camels was not standardized. Compare the photos of the Camel troop (particularly the nearest trooper) on parade with that of the close up of the patrol leader.
