Hi folks

Verbal update

Headwear all finished ...working on the plume now , finding it quite difficult to paint as it's a spayed out version , the resin version is obviously fuller due to casting

I did try to redo it with fine wire but due to wanting to keep my sanity stopped after nearly 2 hours !

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Using a gray base and working up to full highs with pure white ........we shall see how it goes !

Good pic ref ( from the Anne Brown collection )

Stay tuned

You're going to be a master at these elaberate uniforms in short order, Kevin. Fine eyes, btw.

Thank you I do have fine eyes ....Oooopps you mean on the bust ....too much ruckin'

Painted the plume again .....still not happy ...so off it came ....brainwave after looking at make up brushes ....blusher brush ......Not mine. ...honest!!!!!.......rightsort of look......

Currently reworking the plume holder ....once fully dry will shape the plume.

Stay tuned

After lots of careful forming the plume holder and delicate sanding , together with wire and putty ...it looks like this ...still drying !

Very iffyvision pics

Changed the top raised circle to putty slightly wider to give a tiny bit more angled shaping and shaped the top edging

I really love the work you did on Colonel Hawkins and also the bases you’ve set your busts on with the plaques.

Hi there

Thanks for your comment , must admit could have saved myself a lot of muttering with the plume , but pleased with the effect

The bases are from U.K. suppliers Pete's Bases and Oakwood ( Richard Wharton) with the plates from Nameit

ALL provide great quality and service

Missed the completed work here Kev, another very nice piece of work and I think the plume works. There's some things that don't look "right" when sculpted as solid items, especially in larger scales. You did a great job here.
