The beard and the pipe look prime Paul, but the sleeves cry out for some folds at the elbows and shoulders. Keep up the good work!

    All the best,

Looks like an interesting project Paul, keep us posted. (y)

I like your conversion, it makes the figure "tell a story" so to speak; also reminds me of those ancient black and white pictures of grim-looking Crimea War Guardsmen with long beards and huge bearskin bonnets ... you captured that well there !

Just a question if you don't mind - any idea what David Grieve is up to ? Will there be a new figure released soon ?

(BTW : Say hello to David from me if you see him - he knows me ;) )

Paul have you got the Crimea stamps issued by the PO recently? Your conversion is spot on.

    Paul,
If you don't mind, can you make a picture of the not converted figure. I'm
always wanted to know where it is started from.
For what i can see now, extremely well done.

Thank's for the kind words on my efforts, I think like a lot of us, I get this idea burning in my mind and have to get on with it, its the mad artist in me.
I love this period in time, the Crimean War,change of attitude to war and the men who had to fight in it.
    --------------------------------------------------------
Marc,I'll have a look for a picture of a casting,if not a painted example,I know there is one in Shep Paine's figure book,or a snap of David's own one that he painted.
    -------------------------------------------------------
Johan, last time I was with David he was detailing a new figure, that was just before christmas,he'll not mind me letting on what it is Hopfully?
Its a private 24th foot Zulu wars 90-100mm.
I should get over to see him in the next day or so,and I'll send him your regards!

Jim,I never noticed any adds for these new stamps, but now you've prompted me I'll have a look. cheers for that.

    Best Regads
    Paul.

    p.s. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

    Paul,

Ignore my stupidity.. Out of my profession i found his bi-and triceps to big in the value between his chest and arms.
It can be the angle of the camera, but i find them to thick.
If it is so, do you thin them out or what ???

    Hi Guy's,
thanks' for the in put, your right Marc they are a bit full on!
The guys been up the gym with me.........I will need to trim them down a bit,the kit is a little slender any way,I'll try and take it away at the triceps.
    Best Regards

    Paul.

Hi Guys, I know its been some time, the large paint brush and a lounge needed some attention, that project is not finished yet, but I did find a moment to base coat the Guardsman.

Hi Paul, good to see you getting into some more sculpting/conversion work..he's looking really good with some neat and tidy changes.
I always get dissappointed with the underpainting...as all your hard work gets covered up until it's kind of brought back to life with the final paintwork.

    Good luck with him mate...Roy.
