Mark Ricketts - I congratulate! In a miniature I did not meet similar dramatic nature is a fantastic mood!

Thanks for showing us this very moving and poignant piece. I love the raw emotion and power of this piece. Could you tell us who these figures are supposed to represent. They look British WW2 because of the gaiters, but I can't be sure.

    Cheers

Judging from the soldier reading the letter I would say they were American. The scene depicts the soldier being comforted after just loosing his best friend.

It's well sculpted but the huge hands take a bit away from it.~Gary

I feel quite the opposite from you Gary. The large hands adds to the whole feeling of the piece. A pair of large, comforting hands in the time of need of a friend, it's a perfect touch.

Well, in this case the concept has been understated. It's nothing that can't be corrected. lol ~Gary

The hands don't bother me, as I think the whole darn thing is artistic, what does bother me, is the sheer size of the piece, if this thing was even 120mm, I'd be the first one in line to buy one--as Quanq said, this is ART.

I remember my grandfather had huge hands and looking at the photograph I think Mike is spot on with the hands. Not abnormal for a man to have huge hands.

Look at the photograph and at the sculpting.

    Comp Ivory.jpg moh.jpg

Look at the soldier's hand who is being comforted and compare the hands of the two in the photograph.

Guy, I checked out the website and compared the two. It' s easily a piece you can imagine as a life size bronze. I think this piece will do just fine.~Gary

I saw two sample castings of this vignette at Welling club in the Uk, kindly brought in by Roy Hunt. The quality is superb and the pieces fit together perfectly. I don't think that anyone who purchases this kit will be disappointed. Hope they follow up with a World War 1 vignette.
