    Hello Planeteers,

this bust is currently on my work bench. It's the Chubby Saxon from MJ Miniatures. This time, I will go with the paint scheme of the fantastic box art by Kim Man-Jin. I will add some personal twists, though.

Still a lot of work ahead of me but I am pleased with the start.
Comments are very welcome and much appreciated.

    Hi Sven

A nice start there ...nice fleshwork and like the helmet leatherwork ...what did mix did you use for the helmet ?

If I might suggest I would make the black pupil larger before you put the catchlight in

    Following with interest

    Happy benchtime

    Dear Planeteers,
some Progress has been made on my chubby Saxon. His main features, however, are still missing: his mighty shield and the dragon standard. I am looking forward starting the work on both items very soon.
So far it has not been a walk in the park (this guy comes in 17 parts) but definitely a pleasure cruise!

Many thanks for watching and replies are always much appreciated

Progressing really well, some very nice work on the leathers, face and clothing, the Standard and shield will no doubt give this bust the Wow factor, well done getting through the 17 piece challenge.

The big fella is done and I am very happy with the result, if I may say so myself.
Painting this bust from MJ Miniatures was a pleasure. There are not too many smiling faces to paint out there. This “chubby Saxon”, however, was a happily grinning Saxon!

    Hope you like him.
