    Hello,

My latest project is the 200mm CGS Military Cuirassier at Quatre Bras. Sculpted by Carl Reid. Again, a really nice quality piece with a gathered up union flag to test your skills. Done in acrylics and oils. The plinth is from Oakwood.

Excellent paintwork Chezzie. I painted this bust a while back and found the casting second to none and a pleasure to paint. Didn't you do the 120mm mounted piece a while back? I would be curious as to what your thoughts were as to a comparison other then the fact that the bust is 1/9 and the mounted piece is 120mm. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Wayne. I did do the 120mm as well. Although I enjoyed doing both the nicest piece in my collection has to be the 120mm. I just think it’s an imposing figure. I have it mounted on a mahogany base now and it just sets it off perfectly. I think the gathered up colour in the arms of the Cuirassier is a tester. They both are equally as good quality, dynamic and a pleasure to work with. I can’t recommend them enough!

The cuirassier sand carabiniers are definitely my favourite military formations of all time. I’ve a large grey army of them and many books on the subject.

    Cheers

Great job on both. Figures carrying the colours are always imposing both to view and to especially paint.

    Nice work.
Crumpled flags are always daunting, and you've done a good job on this one.

Very nice and colourful well executed, an imposing figure that is on my list along with the 120 mounted version ... before Christmas.
