Trying a new method on a tartan, well new for me. I borrowed the idea from Ray, thanks. I used masking tape to create the pattern, only have to paint the thin lines now.:(

Pedro, I cut down normal masking tape with a scalpel.
    Ken, it's from a 150mm Kirin Celt, I think you've seen it.
    Thanks,
    Carl.

Spot on Carl! Great choice of colour and the pattern looks great. It should really pop out once you add the thin lines.

Nice idea to use the masking tape to start the tartan off, will have to remember that if i ever get round to painting tartan one day.

looking forward to seeing more of the figure mate,

    Hi Carl,

Great idea mate. The lines look square and symetrical. I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

That's a really good idea but I do have a really dumb question. Did any of the dark brown peel off when the tape was removed?

    Hi Marc,
Looking at the colors, you make a good choice and shading are good looking but the lines had to do what is more oblique, because the left side of the line covered in the other there.
Kirin, there is still this company?

Done some more on this, used oils for the white lines so I could correct any mistakes, and there was. I don't know whether to paint the brown intersections a different colour, but the theory is that ancient tartans were 3 colour. I think.

    realy good.
I believe that the dark square's are different in colors then the brown line's.
Because there are two brown lines crossing each other, so it must be darker brown.

    Excellent Carl!

Marc gives a good excuse to make the crossings darker; would look cool in my opinion.
