    Hi all,
This guy turned up in the mail today and I couldn't wait to get started. So here is today's progress. Still a long way to go, no 5 o'clock shadow yet as I haven't decided on a hair colour. I have added my splattering dots yet either (well I did have a go but wasn't happy so I painted over them). It's a great sculpt if your into busts it's a must have.

    Andrew.

Cranking them out Andrew! Best way to improve is to paints a lot so (y)

I'd add a touch more colour here and there myself as it looks a little pasty but it's fine work as-is. On the 5 o'clock shadow, for a youthful man I think what you have already suffices since some people only have the faintest ghost of grey when they're freshly shaved.

Thank you everyone for the kind words and input. I didn't have a lot of time to paint today but I did manage to finish the face and got a good start on the hair. Can someone please tell me what colour his hat should be? I was guessing either black or a really dark blue, I know his jacket is civilian so can be any colour just not sure about the hat.
    Thanks,
    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew
Firstly the face is as said before , excellent !!
The hat could be black, brown or even Red as shown in some paintings,Im unsure whether the jacket is civilian or not as there seems to be some lacing to the lapels so a deep blue with with red facings would work or
perhaps dark brown with a pin strip if you are feeling brave:) and black edging ,but basically anything goes.

    Ron

PS see you went for the bum fluff on the face, works great(y)

Excellent face indeed I'd go for a dark hat to emphasise the pale face and blonde hair myself but that is just an IMO
