    Morn All.

Here are some pics to show you where I am with this beauty :)

NOTHING IS FINISHED before you line me up against the firing wall :)

This is as far as airbrush work goes

I ENJOYED the process after sooooo many years & kept the swearing to a bare minimum honestly even though it was not an easy job as everything kept coming in everything's way but managed a decent free hand job on body and wings.....the only masking done was on the whole wings when they were ready :D

Can I ask for an opinion PLEASE? Do you think I should leave the wings' veins as they are and not outline them in black, since they are quite wide and IMHO would look too accentuated?

Anything else please do fire on as usual :)

NOW IT IS TIME TO SHARPEN THE BRUSHES AND KEEP THEM BUSY n WET ;)

Ray this is just such an uplifting peice of work you are doing i love everything about it and its a nice change from hairy men in uniform.

From day one i have liked this peice and with the painting its going to look stunning, i personally would leave the wings as they are but maybe once the fairy is finished you will be able to tell more.

i am looking forward to seing this one finished,

Ray, this is indeed a nice colourful change from, as Steve commented "hairy men". The wings look great, but perhaps the lightest highlight may be all thats needed on the wing veins? cheers Les

Hey buddy! This is just Beautiful!!!! I love the colors and the base looks so real. I do think something, not sure what, should be done with the veins. Maybe some light highlights and some subdued shadows on them. I am sure you will do whatever and continue to make this a Masterpiece!!

What a beauty! Veins are good as is. They are apparent, but don't distract from the main color scheme.
I hope you do her hair red. I love the redheads...

Thanks guys for all your kind comments and suggestions........all taken and would be considered for sure.

Re redheads @ jburch and Gordy.....I guess it would be/has to be a redhead sort of, given the palette I have with the wings and body.

I would have prefered a blue black haired Princess but the choice of colours are dictating otherwise :D

    Hi Ray,
Well, starting with the commentary has achieved excellent base color of the leaf is awaiting details.
Now the butterfly imagined something like the colors, of course, want details, and know that the blue reminds me a little Avatar.
But so far it's wonderful your work.

Something in a lavender, perhaps slightly lighter than the wing colors, would look very nice as well, and perhaps more appropriate than an actual hair color .

I have the Verlinden figure (shown) in 120mm called "A warriors Rest"
that I modded a bit, originally planning on having her as an Egyptian princess soaking her feet in an indoor pool, complete with stone column ala a Frank Frazetta painting. Mine now has feet and less, uh.."modesty" than shown on the package. Now I'm thinking I might have to try something like yours, perhaps using clear styrene or some type of parchment for the wings for a translucent look. Thanks for the inspiration!
