This is what is on my bench at the moment. Pheonix Follies dating from 1987, it depicts a "Butterfly Girl" in ecstasy pulling pollen from a water lily!

Butterfly wings are photo etched as are the flower petals. She's holding a pollen sucking tube in her left hand which I'll add later from brass or copper as the moulded white metal tube kept bending during the cleaning process. Have also to fill some pitting in the metal especially on the face of leave, and on her lower back!

Since she is depicted as a girl, that is, with a rather under developed chest (the rest of her body is not and looks glorious from all angles, believe me) I have been contemplating of performing some surgery on that area a la a Dr.90210 and transform her into a well endowed Princess.

Have not decided on a particular butterfly scheme as yet, but what I know for sure is, that I won't paint the Princess' body in human flesh!!! I'll paint her body according to the butterfly scheme I choose, that is, just as the butterfly's body appears to be.

    Enjoy and stay tuned!!

What a beautiful figure! They're not everyone's cup of tea, but some of these old Phoenix Follies figures are really, really good - even by todays standards. I have two, one I painted several years ago and the other is still tucked away securely in the ranks of my grey army. Btw, personally, I like her breasts as is and would not give her a "boob job."

    Hi Ray!!!
It's really a lot of beautiful figure, which certainly refers to a different world.
And, finally, modeling is not just soldiers, waiting for completion.

    Ray,

Nice subject. Looks like it will be fun to paint. I agree with Jason. Leave the bust as is. Any larger and it'll change the look of the piece from artistic to cheesecake (IMHO).

Wait...did I really just vote for smaller boobs????

Looking forward to seeing your painting on this one, buddy!

Thanks to all of you for looking :)

Some shots to show the Princess' new fuller bosom

As you can see I stayed away from the "cheesie type", so to retain the natural flow and the "fairy type" of the original sculptor (on the leap's bottom there is I. Richards engraved so maybe he's the one) and only went from A cup to C cup :D

Also avoided her being top heavy just in case she would need an emergency short take off if/when a predator is near :)

As you can see, I penciled the Notorious N's before I decide if I should add them, as yesterday Stepehen raised a valid suggestion, which I must admit, was AGAINST with ALL my might :p, but have seriously contemplated on Stephen's insight that since I would be painting her body in a butterfly body scheme, and not in human flesh, I should not add the Notorious N's :(

So I erased both roundels :) for the last pic so that one can compare easily :D
Would be glad of your feed back as usual ;)
