Because our holidays were very "rainy" and "stormy" and ..... I have had many time for my hobby. So another bust.

I have many photos showing my grandfather, who was member of a MG-Company during WW1 at the Eastern Front. So I try to make a bust, showing him like these

    Here the result

The bust needs some cleanings and a good painting

Hope you like it and any comments are welcome

Ulrich i can't do better then you, but i think you must correct things.
    1. The cheeks are not so big, the foto shows smaller.
    2. The eyebrows are not a straight line but more a bow.
    3. The collar of the jacket needs more symetry.
    4. Rework the mouth, because he has a wrinkle on the left side, not on the right. Or you do it on both sides, or no wrinkle.
    5. The eyes are not equal. The right is bigger then the left.
    6. His ears must be a few mm higher. It sits to low.

Again, i wish i could sculpt like this i would be happy.

    Hi Marc

Thanks a lot for your comment.

I know what you know mean and try to change it. The cheeks, the eyebows, the mouth and the collar are no problems. A questions to the ears. Do you mean the whole ear a little bit higher or do you mean that the ears are to small?

I have a book from Bruce Hogarth where I have seen a painting where the ears must be and I follow that at my bust.

    Ulrich,

Sorry, the ear must be lowered. the top of the ear is at the same level of the pupil of the eye.
Look at the picture and you see what i mean.
    Sorry for the confusion.

What I could not see on the photos, my father told me that my grandpa had a scar on his cheek.

    Any comments are welcome
