    Hi all,
Well he's finally done, except maybe a touch up or two. Life Miniatures wonderful kit where you can see my SBS here http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/another-bob-pilot-with-a-difference.63801/#post-649371
I changed his wiring to be "more accurate" for the period and added a spitfire backdrop that is removable to be more in tune with the sepia effect.
It was a real challenge to paint it in the sepia effect, making me think outside the box, but I am glad I did it.
Thanks for looking and any comments are welcome as he's being entered in our West Australian Hobby expo (WASMEX) this coming weekend
    Cheers

Great Bust ,come half figure ,very difficult to get a smiling face to look right and not have a stupid grin on his face,
super painting and should do very well in the comp ,not all that easy to get the Sepia effect right but you nailed it (y)

Very interesting job! Painting the figure sepia effect isn't easy for sure, but you haev done a great job.
The detail of the photo on the background is excellent!
    Reminds me a 3D photo.

Great work Ben. You've really stepped out of your comfort zone on the bust and the results are spectacular. Bravo for being brave and bold and trying something new and different. Good luck this weekend.(y)

Really well done, love the whole concept of the sepia affect which isn't the easiest thing to do, but one little thing that looks a bit off, is the way you've painted the dog's eyes. They've given him a mean look, rather than a friendly look, as a dog, especially a spaniel, would have towards it's master.

Thanks for looking and commenting Ian, Pedro, Ralph and Monty

Tony, the same goes to you mate

Brian, cheers for that, I will relook at the eyes, I tried to get an excited look to them. I have a Cocker just like this one at home and know how when she gets excited, you can see a lot of the whites to her eyes. Will definitely re look at them though

The overall impact is amazing. It may seem a small thing but I think you nailed the glass in his goggles. No easy thing to do in my book.
